Yard Person

A new position has landed on our desk at Wilson Recruitment Ltd. We are seeking a Yard Person to work for a family owned construction company who employ over 2000 people UK wide. The business is opening a brand new depot over the coming weeks and will require a Yard Person to predominantly clean construction equipment.

Basic salary c.£29640-£32110 per annum + overtime + benefits

In a nutshell:
• Monday to Friday 07:00-17:00 + overtime
• Meriden, Hampton in Arden, CV7
• £12-£13 per hour depending on skills, qualifications and experience
• Full induction, risk assessment and health & safety training
• 80%-90% of your working week will be steam cleaning construction plant
• 10%-20% of your working week will consist of cleaning, sweeping, litter picking in the yard etc
• If you have mechanical experience, you may assist with the Plant Fitters also

The first interview will be over the telephone, second stage interview will be either held in Northamptonshire at one of the company depots or over a FaceTime / teams call.

Candidate:
• Must hold a full UK driving licence of cat B (car and van) minimum (mandatory)
• Will be able to adapt to different surroundings and be physically fit (mandatory)
• Should have some construction knowledge and/or work experience in the industry (desirable)
• Shall be reliable, punctual and possess excellent communication skills (mandatory)
• Can use own initiative, excellent time management skills and ability to work alone (mandatory)
• Could hold a tele handler, HGV and/or FLT licence (desirable)
• Would be willing to take this opportunity as a gateway into a career with plant equipment (preferred)
• Might have some mechanical or electrical work experience and/or qualifications (desirable)
